As Red Frogs, our role is to support a generation of school leavers during what can be an enjoyable, yet at times, physically and emotionally confronting week. Below are the many ways Red Frogs assist during Leavers week at South West.
Join the CrewSouth West
The South-West has been inhabited annually by the Red Frog Crew since 2001.
The little tourist town of Dunsborough and the surrounding areas have become a popular hotspot for Leavers and Chaplains alike. The South-West is quite unique as it is a large geographical area with Leavers accommodated in Caravan Parks, Motels, Backpackers and private accommodation houses scattered throughout the area. It is encompassed by a vast expanse of beautiful beaches on one side, chocolate, cheese and ice-cream factories on the other, and fabulous coffee shops and designer stores in between.
In the South-West, Red Frog volunteers cook pancake breakfasts and host BBQ's, clean rooms, hang out with Leavers and help in situations that require mediation and referral. Also in the South-West is the iconic Leavers Zone and the ever popular Meelup Beach Day
See below for volunteer requirements, dates, costs and roles.
If you have a heart for this generation and you're looking to build long-term friendships with Leavers and Froggers, the South-West is the perfect place for you to serve.

#Red Frog Roles
Accommodation Outreach
The primary role of the Red Frog Outreach teams is to be present for Leavers in accommodation venues and public places during Leavers Week. Our teams work hard to build relationships primarily with Leavers, but also with accommodation managers, local service providers, shopkeepers, and pretty much anyone who comes across our path.
Our hope is that through the relationships we build we can connect with young people to encourage good decision making, and to become a trusted voice they will turn to in times of need.
Hotline Team
The Red Frog call centre is the hub of the Red Frog movements around Australia, receiving calls for anything from random acts of pancakes to more serious issues requiring immediate response.
Call centre volunteers are rostered on day, night and late night shifts. As call centre crew you are part of a team of people who will provide directives to the Leavers Chaplains, allowing them to make maximum impact in supporting Schoolies and get to incidents in time, instead of after time.
Creative/Media Team
Whether you’re handy with a camera, have a director’s cap or just love telling a great story - we need you.
As RF Creative we get the privilege of capturing the incredible behind-the-scenes moments and stories as our crew safeguard a generation - if this is up your alley we would love for you to join us.
Pastoral Care/Support
If you have a high EQ and a desire to help our team but interacting directly with teenagers isn't your thing, consider joining our pastoral care & support team. You'll be looking after the mental health of our volunteers, particularly following any traumatic events that they may have witnessed or responded to.
Logistics/Transport Team
Enabling Red Frogs to operate over the duration of Leavers requires a huge amount of resources constantly being set up, relocated and managed.
If you’re a ‘behind-the-scenes’ kind of person, have an available van or ute, like lifting and helping with set-up, or even doing VIP shuttle runs - then this is role for you.
